Squirrels hides rule change

A few days back I sent a letter to the DNR asking for a rule change. I asked that we be allowed to sell squirrel hides as well as the tails from legally taken animals.
My reasons are that the skins have some value and are now just a waste item.
The DNR has responded and will consider the change.
If I, or anyone, hear anything more on this I hope to see it posted here.

Selling of Wild Game

Protected or regulated wild animals, live, dead, or the meat there from, cannot be sold, traded or bartered. (Exceptions: lawfully taken furbearers, squirrel tails, deer hides, antlers, hooves, and cured gamebird feathers may be sold).

Yes you can but I know I and a few others would just as soon get a buck for the hide as 15 cents for the tail.

I know guys that buy squirrels pelts now and have for years. Also i get .25 a tail.
