I got drawn to hunt muscatatuck and atterbury. My hunting partner also got drawn to hunt both places as well (different days). I have already harvested my buck for the year in archery season. is there a limit on the number of bucks I harvest (i know not to exceed the daily bag limits on the properties) with the military/refuge tags? The way I understand it, I can take up to 5 bucks total, one in each of the military/refuge hunts, and my regular season buck. I know I need to purchase a new military/refuge tag if I use it on a deer at one of the draw hunts.

You will need to purchase a miltary refuge license for each hunt in order to harvest a deer at each hunt. An antlered deer taken under a military refuge license does not count towards the one buck limit. However, if you have already purchased another license (such as a firearms license) and you were to use it to hunt the military hunts, you would be limited to only antlerless deer because the type of license used (military refuge license) is what exempts the deer from going against the one buck rule. Please see the regulation below.
(f) An individual may take one (1) deer of either sex for each extra deer military/refuge license on a military reserve or national wildlife refuge. An antlered deer taken under this section is exempted from the limitations placed on the taking of antlered deer set forth in section 2 of this rule.
