I hear some reference to the "safety" distance from a roadway, but all I can ever find in the statutes is that you can't shoot from, or across a roadway. How far is LEGALLY far enough off the road to shoot?
Thanks! I appreciate your time and dedication on here, and in the field.

The roadway includes not only the actual roadway but also the roads right of way. Unfortunately, there is no standard for all roads. Some right of ways end at the edge of the surface while others may extend for several feet from the edge of the roads surface. I good rule of thumb is to go by the utility pole line. These poles are typically, NOT ALWAYS, within the roads right of way. A second rule of thumb, when you think you are far enough off the road, go a little further.
You can contact your county highway department to check on particular roads in your county.
