On-line says to write down my confirmation number on my transportation tag. Most of the time that tag is plum nasty from being attached to the deer. And who wants to keep this tag around for months until the meat has been consumed? Wouldn't it be alot easier just to write the online confirmation number on the back of your license? Something you keep clean, and generally in your wallet or backpack, but on you 100% of the time.
I've been writing mine on the back of my license, if this won't due, then i suppose i'll just have to be in violation since my transportation tags get tossed, imediately after i checked them in on-line.

The Administrative Rule does state that the number provided by the online check in is to be written on the temporary transportation tag. I cannot and will not encourage you to do something that is against the rule which would put you in violation. However, if you choice to discard the temporary transportation tag, write down the same information that is on the temporary transportation tag where you chose to write the online check in number. Again, I am not recommending that you go against what the administrative rule directs you to do. I hope this helps.

In addition, the tag or confirmation only has to be maintained until processing begins. Therefore, if you did not discard your temp tag until you processed the deer, you would not be in violation.
