Good morning and thanks for taking the time to answer our questions.
I was wanting to ask permission from a landowner with a pond to hunt geese on his property. It is not within city limits but the pond is directly across the road from a school. The farthest we could get from the school while on the pond is around 670'. Is there an ordinance or law stating how far a person must be before they can hunt next to a school / place of business?
I understand this could be a touchy subject right now w/the tragedy in Connecticut. We are only planning on hunting during weekends or days we know school isn't in session.

I do not know of any state statute that limits the possession of a firearm near school property except for those that restrict possession on actual school property. However, you may want to check with the local (county and city) officers to ensure there is not a county or city ordinance which addresses this issue.
