anybody know any good places to hunt grey fox? been predator hunting for couple years now and called in coyotes and red fox but have never even seen a grey fox in indiana

If I remember right,back when I was younger and helping my dad call them,he told me it was almost impossible to get grays to come to a call,why I don't remember.I know we use to trap them some though.

I haven't called at night (when we had the best luck with foxes) in several years. When we did we would call more greys into shotgun range than reds. They would just set out there a hundred or so yards and get shot with the rifle.
We always had good luck around the reclaimed coal mine ground playing a grey fox pup distress. Called in lots of coyotes with it also.
What kind of calls are you using?

mainly using different rabbit distress sounds and grey fox sounds. mainly hunt around Brookville lake area. looks like good area for them but have yet to see one

Saw a fox last night not far from the house...looked to have a lot of gray on it compared to others I've seen but I'd say it was a red fox. Anyone else been hearing a lot of coyotes in the evenings lately?

Yeah we've been hearing a lot of coyotes.Actually had 1 in our back yard a couple months ago but it seems we've been hearing them more lately.
