Here is a picture of my year end trapping season. I caught 15 yotes, 4 grey fox, 13 coons, 1 beaver and too many grinners. One yote was all infected and I did not keep him and one grey fox I tanned for my brother. That is why I am one short on each in the picture. I will ship these to NAFA tomorrow. Hope the prices are still up.

Just curious, what is the average going price for a group of hides like the ones you have.

Just curious, what is the average going price for a group of hides like the ones you have. Well at the last NAFA auction coyotes were averaging $50 a piece and coons, greys and beaver were at $30 avgerage I believe for this area. Furs are at the highest levels ever due to demand in other countries. Everybody and there brother will be trapping next year. Oppossums will fetch around maybe $3. I don't mess with the oppossums though.

do you tan your own hides? That is something I have been interested in, just never done it? How much $$ do you have in tanning a hide?

do you tan your own hides? That is something I have been interested in, just never done it? How much $$ do you have in tanning a hide? I have tanned a few racoons, yotes and a fox. It is is pretty time consuming but I don't count my time. I used the Deer Hunter's & trapper's tanning formula. It is only about 8 or 9 dollars a bottle. Salt is also used. so really it is not that expensive to do it.
