I want to try hunting coyote/fox at night with an electronic caller. We would be using a spotlight. I do not want to run afoul of the regulations against spotlighting deer. Is the main issue was getting away from the vehicle, not spotting or calling from the vehicle? Are there any restrictions on the firearms that can be used? I am not opposed to calling the local CO and telling him where I will be and when I will be there.

The only time you run in to an issue is when you are in possession of a firearm or bow and shining from a vehicle. This is no limited to deer. It applies to all hunting.
