The landowner of the nearby farm I currently hunt passed away last fall and the farm has been handed down to the 6 siblings. As of April 2014 I am currently the only person with permission to enter the property to hunt(permission granted by the executive of estate and 2 other siblings). With that being said, my biggest fear was the land owners passing would entice trespassers.....and it has. The executive told me only I have permission and she would start prosecuting trespassers if that is what it comes down to. Youth weekend I chased 4 people out opening morning that come from the neighboring property, the following Saturday of regular spring turkey season I almost got shot by a trespasser. Is it possible to have a local CO respond the next time I catch this guy or any other trespassers on the land or should I keep turning them into the executive of the estate in hopes she hold up her promise to start prosecuting?
Late December 2013 I stumbled upon tire tracks from a side by side that had pulled up to a fence line in an open pasture, evidence in the snow would indicate a deer was shot from this vehicle and the passenger had exited the vehicle and walked 150yards into a picked corn field where there I found a gut pile...I called this in and a CO contacted me almost a week later and never did follow up on this....the other guy hunting this property has a side by side and has been busted in previous years by a nearby CO for poaching, my guess is he probably felt like he could get away with anything since nobody was around to look over the place. I watch over the place like a hawk, which is why I have permission to currently be there. Is it possible to have a few CO's I could contact if further issues arise?
