Hello,
I would like to hunt a small public lake for ducks and geese, only about a third of the lake has any houses around it, the rest is unable to be used (swamp, marsh etc.). What are the rules for hunting a public lake, and if I am able to hunt on the lake what if local residents give us a hard time??
Thank You for any help you can give me,

A public lake has a government entity that oversees the uses and regulates what activities can be conducted on the lake. For example, the state reservoirs are governed by laws and regulations established through state statutes or administrative rules. A person interested in hunting a public lake would need to find out who governed the activities on the lake and learn if hunting was allowed. If a person is able to legally hunt the lake, no one would legally be allowed to interfere with the legal hunting of that lake.
Have a safe hunting season and let me know know if you have any additional questions.
