Just seen something on Facebook that brought up a question. After a deer is shot and checked in is there protocol on what can be done with the deer? The picture was of several deer thrown onto the aide of road. I guess where does wanton waste come into play? In don't agree with it at all but does Indiana regulations state that if someone shot a deer, tagged it and everything else was legal can that person just throw the deer away?

unfortunately yes. Wanton waste requires the hunter to retrieve the animal and include it in the daily bag limit. This requirement is met by them tagging the deer and checking it in. The disposal of the deer has to be proper just will any other items a person would discard. It is illegal for them to be dumped. Once the deer is checked in, the deer is then 'property' of the person that checked it in.
