I drive by the Rome City FWA on a weekly basis. This year, I noticed two portable metal latter stands attached to trees within that property the entire deer hunting season. I am told by someone who lives in that area that they too noticed the stands and that those stands did not get removed any day, at all, until after late antlerless season ended.
The Hunting Guide states:
"It is illegal to erect or hunt from a permanent tree blind on state-owned or state-leased lands. Portable tree stands may be used on state-owned or stated-leased lands...and may be left overnight only between Sept 1 and Jan 10."
Does this mean portable latter stands may be left on DNR property every day from Sept 1 and Jan 10 and do not need to be removed at all during that period?

As log as the treestand is considered portable (not permanently affixed to the tree) and is marked with the hunters contact information, the stand can remain on the property from Sept 01 to January 10.
