I have an uncle Joe that lives across the river and he traps coyotes with an oaffset trap and a graf double hook? He trails them by the drag of the chain and then steps on them while holding them down with a long pole and rope at the end that he twists on the coyotes neck. When have several coon dogs and farm dogs that like rabbit and squirrel dogs that have goon missing. I am sure that Uncle Joe kills them as he finds them in his trap. What to do? ;D

I'm confused. Are the coyotes eating the dogs.... or is he killing dogs out of his traps? Are you asking if you should turn in your uncle for killing dogs... or asking how to keep dogs out of the traps?
Killing a domestic dog is "apparently" illegal if it's not harassing livestock. I've heard of CO's prosecuting that in only two cases, one involved a guy that simply "had it coming" and the other was a road hunting situation. There are a lot of unchained mutts that lose their life each winter when sportsmen take to the woods- I personally refrain from shooting breeds that are used for hunting. Beagles, walkers and such. It'd just make me sick to think a guys tracking collar went dead the night before and I dumped his hunting buddy for chasing a deer!

He kills our dogs in the traps when they are alive. He knows them when he sees them. He is always coming over to eat a free meal on Sundays.
