I always start out calling with low volume. I'll call for about 2 min then wait for 5 increasing the sound a little each time. I usually use a rabbit in distress. I've had luck using that, then switching to a coyote pup in distress. I've also had good luck throwing in a challenge bark inbetween calling. I usually go in the evening, right before it gets dark. You'll just have to try some things and see which works best.

www.varmintal.com/ahunt.htmHere is how I got started. I made the el-cheapo and have used several of the calling sequences posted on the website with great success. You will have lots of fun! Good luck.

"calling" ok here is the funniest thing I have ever seen. I played one of those calls, and my wifes Shih-Tzu climbed on the couch, made a flying jump to a counter top and tried to attack the laptop! Hilarious!
