I would site it dead on at 50 yards. It will then be 2-3 inches high at 100-150 yards and back on at about 225 yards. That is how I site mine in. I would use a frangible bullet just because I don't want my bullet skipping and hitting someone.

I'd go with a 45 or 50 grain V-max or similar bullet.

The one i owned like Federal 50 grain Hi-Shok ammo. The handi has a 1-12 twist barrel so any bullet in the 40 - 55 grain range should shoot OK but you need to shoot different brands to see which one your gun likes. My .223 is set at 1" high at 100 yards and i can pretty much hold dead on out to 250 yds but I'm using 69 Sierra bullets. One of the nice things about a .223 is the ammo is cheap and available anywhere. h.h.

I would definately cosider a trigger job. The triggers on those rifles are atrocious! My brother got a trigger job on his .223 Handi-Rifle, and I watched him shoot 12ga hulls at 100yds with it.

i own your rifles big brother. shoot this rifle alot to make sure it is ok. if the action opens on its own after each shot send it back immediately. my 500sw opened after each shot no danger but quite anoying. once you have sighted the little rifle in enjoy
