Finally got one. Looks like it was a lone coyote from the tracks. Not a lot of snow left, but looked like one. All I had with me was my 300 blackout. I didn't want to get close to it anyway. It's gross but the eyes popped out like Arnold Swartzenager in Total Recall.

Good job. Anybody eating it? LOL, I don't have any takers. I'm thinking I'll take it to Hoosier Trapper and get it tanned since it's my first.

Fantastic - all you was the 300blkout - yeah that is just a shame! I must say, it was fun to shoot it with my AR. That's the first opportunity to shoot anything living with it. Am I sick to enjoy this??? My wife asked me what that gun was for. I told her it was for the zombie apocalypse, or for someone trying to take it away from me. Now it's for coyotes too!

If you are we share the same illness! (that was not necessarily supposed to make you feel better)

The pack hasn't been on the farm in several days, but I'm sure they'll come back. Good luck on that coyote contest. Hey, just pretend they are big clay pigeons and you'll knock it down.

Way to go Dennis. Congrats on finally getting the first one. I'm sure there's many more to come. They are not easy to get! I've been going every day to check traps. I'm thinking the pack has moved east to the big woods. A few weeks ago after a snow it was like a coyote highway through there. This fella's was the only set of tracks. I'll go back tomorrow, but not sure when the pack will be back. I leave out frozen gut piles from my coons, so there's food for them now. Thanks Dave!
