Well, we're only 1 month away now! Anyone else fired up?
September 1st always serves as a reminder to me that I need to get my butt in gear and make sure everything is ready for the upcoming season. I start looking forward to bow season when the late season ends. I'll spend the next month making sure I have everything ready (about 10 different times) and shooting every day. This year I also need to get my new muzzleloader sighted in so I don't have to worry about that in October.
Man I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!

Psyched doesn't even begin to describe the feeling. The weather is finally cooling off, mornings are crisp, thoughts of being in a tree at first light....nothing better. Have my stands set, been shooting every day, hope to get several more evenings of glassing my property the next few weeks, then I usually back out of there completely a week or so before season. IT'S ALMOST HERE!!! ;D Won't be too long before my neck starts to swell and I start rubbing my head on the bed posts.

Hard to believe, isn't it? Where has the year gone?
My 13 year old son and I spent Saturday, and Sunday hanging stands. He also practiced shooting out of his stand. He's ready!
We watched a young doe for about 15 minutes. She just stood about 40 yards away, and watched us. I put the legs on my 3D deer target he was going to shoot at, and she REALLY wondered what was up! Finally she walked out into the corn. We had a blast. She was never spooked, and wandered back into the woods about 30 minutes later. I knew she would, she was just too curious.
