Hi all! My name is Mark and I'm looking for a spot for my son and I to hunt, mostly my son I'm just his assistant. Matthew was injured in an industrial accident at work about three years ago that left him paralyzed from the waist down. After a lot of hard work Matthew is ready to go to the woods and try to harvest some venison.
Matt has completed several hunter safety and firearm courses over the years, and has hunted with me as a young man. I have the upmost confidence in him putting a good shot on any game he goes after. He is proficient in all of our hunting weaponry (bow, crossbow, shotgun, muzzleloader, handgun, sling-shot, etc.). Matt is able to drive and has attained a special hunting permit from the State of Indiana which allows him to be able to hunt from his vehicle if necessary. This aids him in getting to and from a deer stand or just to sit in his vehicle.
He's a great guy with an unbelievable attitude regarding his injury and helps others every time he's given the opportunity. So my hopes are that there's someone out there that can make a connection with us and provide him a chance to harvest a deer.
We're responsible hunters and safety is always at the top of the list. If you'd like to meet us in person I think that would be appropriate and expected from us. Thanks for reading this thread!

Update as of 10/19/2022:
Matthew and I are still looking for a spot for him to hunt in Northern Indiana, if possible, if anyone is able to help out let us know. He just graduated from IUSB this year with a criminal justice degree and is now ready to get outdoors. We have a small piece of land in LaGrange Co. but it's not very productive for deer currently. We're working on that on the side!

ETA: I see now you're in northern Indiana. I'm 2 hours South of Indy but can put you on some decent ground.

We're located in Elkhart County which is right on the Michigan line. That puts us around six hours away from you, thanks for your reply!

If you ever get down in the southern part of the state( near Evansville) I can set you up on some private ground for a weekend deer hunt.

Ditto, around Vincennes give me a shout. I've got some land private that you can have full reign to. I just acquired a large 2 person blind that can be setup to if need be.

I hunt every handicap hunt I can get into. Try to find them in your area. Mine are no where close to you. However, if you are willing to make a long drive, I can get you in the Crane hunt for next year.

Every time you look around and think of how bad you have it, something catches your attention and teaches you "it could always be worse ". I'll look forward to hearing from you next fall. If you want to gun down some "song dogs"let me know. I could hook you up with that also.

whtalehutr, this is doggyv, It appears we are having an issue connecting. I have the perfect place for your son to hunt. I will try to check back daily to see if you respond, and see if we can set up a meeting at Gallop's truck stop. I'm only a mile and a half away from there.
