Newer coyote hunter here; got the bug after calling in and getting my first red fox last year. Was wondering if anyone had experience on public land in central indiana (i.e. Wilbur Wright, Province Pond, Randolph County FWA, etc.) for yotes/ other furbearers? Cousin and I are looking to get out after some coyotes using the classic two man AR-shotgun combo with my electronic call and quiver critter decoy handy. Also, any tips for hunting public land generally would be appreciated!

I wish I could help you, but I don't know. I wasn't sure what time one had to be off those properties, but I know there are people on here who do hunt them there.
Congratulations on the fox!!! What did you do with him?

Most have been called to a lot so definitely much harder and wary. Coyotes become very used to be called to and many try it now with all the e callers. I would be willing to bet if you knocked on some farmers doors you likely are going to get a much better response of letting you go than deer hunting. I get asked to come trap all the by farmers and neighbors. Farmers hate coyotes and it might open some doors. You would be surprised how many coyotes are close to city limits too and much easier to call.

I agree. knock on doors. They ususally won't shoot atyou. very few will yell at you and I bet you will be amazed how many will say sure.
