Finally connected on a decent female coyote. I have ran 6 traps for about 3 weeks and one place was dead. The coyotes were not using it like they were in Oct. Moved them back to my house this week and caught one yesterday and had two in the trap circle last night but didn't step on pan. Definitely making a difference as there are less this year at my house as in past but you will never rid them. Hopefully a couple more mess up.

Good deal.
I haven't seen many around my woods on my trail cameras, but do have a pair of them now, and a fox.
Have you gotten a fox yet?

You won't have the fox for long Coyotes and fox don't mix and you catch the fox I've had coyotes eat the fox in the trap All I got was a foot

Caught lots of coyotes burying a "road kill "cat nothing but the tail A little urine and a trap on each side and a trap on the nearest high spot I don't care if it's 20 ft away they'll step on the high spot to check it out and they can't count past two worked for me

I have gotten a red fox or two the last couple of years now but have always released them. I watch them each spring work the field in my back yard and always am amazed. Believe me if you have a pair of coyotes on camera you have more. I have numerous different baits and honestly when they get used to most and I have caught several my go to is rotisserie chicken pieces. My best friend has caught several on it as well. As long as you bury in a dirt hole u will avoid crows and hawks. Learned that mistake early on.

Muskrat works well in a dirt hole also.

If you have a foot in the trap the fox chewed it off to get away!

Never in 40 years of K-9 trapping have I actually witnessed a fox or coyote "chew" their leg off to get out of a trap. The only critter that I have seen do any chewing is a coon, and then only the part of his foot that's under the jaws of the trap, never their actual leg that's above the jaws as many PETA freaks claim that happen. If you have a foxes foot in your trap it's because a coyote has came and killed it and ripped the fox apart and took it with him, or in many cases just left the mangled body at your set.

I have caught a three footed coyote though. He was missing half of a front leg. I have also caught several missing a foot, but I believe it was from either being hung up in a fence or being caught in a trap and pulling up the stake and trap, or pulling the jaws out after fighting it hard and doing damage in the process and the foot getting infected and falling off. I have never seen a fox or coyote chew on their leg with it in a trap. I have seen many time the dog on the trap bent at a 90 degree and them having broken or missing teeth from them biting the trap but never actual leg damage because of them chewing on themselves. I trapped many years for the live market and a coyote with bad feet would not sell and took time doctoring them back to good health. The first thing I would check when taking them out of the trap was how much damage the trap had caused and what could be done to limit it. I have laminated pretty well all the jaws and center swiveled and added a heavier base plates on my K-9 traps to prevent damage. It has helped greatly in reducing foot and trap damage.

I run mb550 offsets. The only thing I have had get out were coons. My friend actually caught a coyote today with a missing back foot. I have had coyotes get out of a duke trap but I learned after the first year to upgrade and never missed one that actually was caught.
