duck, what's the payload weight and wad? What hull? Have you patterned them at 40 yd?
I have a recipe using FGM Paper hulls (2 3/4") that launches 1 3/8 oz of shot at 1380 fps.

i,m useing aa hulls with red aa wads im getting right at 25 4 buck pelletts in which is only 1 1/8 of shot i could probly go with a differnt wad to get a few more shot in but i really don,t think it would help that much i don,t have a chon. so i really don,t know how fast they are

I'm going from memory here, and a quick internet search. Win AA hulls are tapered internally, and aren't the best to use for heavy fast payloads. If staying within the 2 3/4" length, I would look for Federal Gold Medal plastic or paper hulls, and Remington SP12 wads. CCI 209M primer, 37.5g Blue Dot. Precision Reloading Spherical Buffer added to the mix to take up any air space between the pellets and help minimize deformation. I think you are pushing or exceeding the limit PSI wise with your load in the AA hull. For the best pattern I like to have all the shot column surrounded by the plastic wad as it goes down the barrel. I use that recipe that I posted, but for smaller shot, but I DO use buffer. A 1 3/8 oz. payload is going 1380 fps and is below SAMMI specs for max pressure for a 2 3/4" shotgun shell. Be warned, just by changing the type of buffer can increase pressure to above SAMMI specs. I had a bunch of loads pressure tested years ago and that really opened my eyes as to just how fickle reloading shotgun shells is. When I shot a lot of Blue-Dot powder, I also found it was cold sensitive. Shooting it in cold weather (I'm talking 40's here) I saw a drop in a couple hundred fps of velocity. I would look specifically for a buckshot reloading book or at least start out with this one: www.precisionreloading.com/cart.php#!l=TMTR&i=M111

i agree i,m pushing it with 40 gr, of bluedot probly by at least 3 gr, ill think ill try your load. what kind of buffer u use? i,v did a lot of checking on the 3 1/2 in loads most say its not worth it that you will get just as good of load out of a 2 3/4 or 3 in. load. have u pattern your load . i,m gettin around 17 or 18 4 buck in a 30 in circle at40 yrds

I only use Precision Reloading Spherical Buffer. In pressure testing it proved to have 2-3000 psi less pressure than any other buffer that I tried and had tested.
I used that recipe shooting 1 3/8 oz #6 lead shot and while it wasn't quite as good pattern wise when I used the Activ T-42 wads, I was getting over 70% pattern at 60 yds using a Briley extended light full choke (0.042" constriction). They stopped making the Activ wads long while ago and my stash is getting depleted.
