When boating on a river what is considered public? Example. Can one boat up a creek, stream or ditch from the river? Second question. If the river has changed course and runs into and out of what use to be private property is this now public? Or still a private body of water?

When an individual is operating a boat on the river, the public portion of the river is between the normal high water marks.
When a person goes operates a boat into a tributary or creek coming off the river, the water is the only thing public. the banks and the bottom are considered to be owned by the private property owner.
