Nice pelts Bullseye69. How much do you get for them if you sell them to a fur trader? I've not ever skinned a coyote but while at the gun shop one day I over heard a guy talking about how much money he got for the furs. That got me motivated to hunt coyotes. When I was younger and still a Freshman in HS I read my dad's books on hunting predators. He had the Hurter's Guide Book (hardback edition around 1960s) and it was full of great advise on how professional guides hunt and fish. Haven't sold any in a few years but some where around $18 average I guess. www.indianatrappers.org/2018-fur-sale-report/Don't get much for red colored so these will be sent off to get tanned for wall hangers.

Roger That. Yea at only 18 dollars a pelt, there is not much incentive to skin and sell the fur. Now the guy at the gun store was talking about getting $50 a pelt and that got my immediate attention. But that was more than 3 years ago. Prices of fur must go up and down depending on many factors.
Right now I'm not in good enough shape to go out in the fields walking around due mostly right now to my lower back pain on both sides of my back. One side (left) is due to a tumor growing on the nerve going to my left upper thigh. I get a really bad burning pain in my left upper thigh when I'm standing up for more than 20 to 30 minutes. So there is no way I can walk very far these day. And then I must have pulled a back muscle in my right lower back about 8 weeks ago and it's still killing me. Then there is the cancer and the hormone shots that zap all my energy. So right now getting out and doing any fishing or hunting is out of the picture for me. I may be able to go shooting at the gun range as I can sit down there and parking is right next to the shooting tables. I mostly shoot my 9 mm pistol these days at the 25 yard range. I don't shoot at the 200 yard range much anymore due to the long walks back and forth to the target and back to the shooting table. I get out of breath easily these days due to a bad heart and being overweight. I used to walk for 30 minutes a day and would go out to the local university to walk the trails out there. But can't do that anymore. Thus the gain in weight over the last 6 years.

Almost like a red fox. Just got done washing and fleshing him out, now on the stretcher drying for a day or so then flip fur side out. What are they bringing this year? Is doing the skinning/fleshing,stretching worth the price difference than "in the round" price?

I once had a live rabbit in my hands and man did that thing scream. I walked out in my side year next to the Ash tree and heard a loud racket coming from the ground. It sounded at first like a baby Starling. But it turned out to be a baby raccoon that had fallen out of the tree about 10 ft up in the tree and was laying in the tall grass. I'm surprised that the fall didn't kill it. It was crying for it's life. It's momma was no where around bacause I had trapped her and moved her before I knew she had a den in the tree. I made a recording of the sounds the baby raccoon was making but don't know if the sound track is still on my smart phone.
