Been doing pretty good on thinning the population of yotes at my Westville hunting spot. Got a third one on Dec 1st. Now that there is a break in the deer season, I know archery is still in, I'm gonna do some calling there and see what else I can get. These were all taken with my deer gun I built this year with the cartridge I designed called the 7.7JK. Will use my 17hmr with a moderator on it instead, Not as big of holes.

Keep up the good work. I have coyotes on trail cams both here at the house and at the hunting place in Knox, and I had a huge one run past the stand there a few days ago.

Looks like the round is capable.

How's the 17 hmr work on the yotes for You? I use a 204 if I'm just after yotes but I'm afraid it'll blow a fox in half. Might try to start taking my hmr

I personally wouldn't use it over the 150 yard mark but a head shot farther out shouldn't be impossible. But every hunter should know their limits. And as 204 would go, it wont do any more than a 223 would do on a yote or fox. A light ballistic tip bullet probably wont make it out of a fox or yote. It should disintegrate after entry.

I shot a fox a few years back with a 3 inch 12 gauge magnum. Didn’t tear him up like I thought it would.
