The SAAMI specs for the round are 0.355" bullets and a 0.357" throat for the chamber.

Winchester ammo that has been made available to the public so far has been measured to indeed only be 0.355" diameter.

It is my understanding that this round would only be legal on private property.

While our officers have the ability to measure the precise diameter of the bullet, they also apply their discretion when a bullet is not within the manufacturer’s specified measurements. The manufacturer will have various tolerances to the measurements which will not be held against the individual utilizing the round. An officer, based on the totality of the circumstances to include the manufacturer's description of the cartridge, will use common sense and good judgement to determine if the individual was knowingly or intentionally trying to violate the statute or if the individual reasonably believed the cartridge met the requirements of the statute or Administrative Code.
