I recently purchased my first farm which qualifies me for the landowner exemption of a hunting license. What do I need to have on hand should I be checked by an officer for proof of exemption?
Does my 9-year-old son still need an apprentice license when hunting on this property?
Thank you for your help.

The Indiana Code or the Indiana Administrative Code does not require the individual to carry anything to verify the person is the actual owner of the land. However, an officer may confirm the address of the property with the address on the individuals drivers license. If concerns of owner ship arise, the officer can confirm or prove the statement of ownership to be false through county records.
The exemption allows for the owner or dependents living with the owner to qualify for the exemption.
