My son is 12 years old and needs to take the hunter safety class but all are canceled because of the Corona virus plus he has already used up his Apprentice license. We tried to do the online class but he needs to be 14 years old. What are our options? Can the Fish and Wildlife division waive the 14 year old rule for online classes? Your help would be appreciated. Thanks

I am going to attempt to address a couple of issues with this post.
First, the online course has an age restriction requiring the person to be a minimum of 12 years old to take the course. Please forward me the URL for the site informing you the age restriction is 14 years old so that I can get that corrected. My email address is lmorrison@dnr.in.gov.
Second, based on the Executive Order, any license expiring during the current pandemic is automatically extended to May 22. If your child had an Apprentice Youth License for 2019, the license expired on March 31, 2020. The license would automatically be extended to May 22.
Let me know if you have any other questions. Please forward the url providing the incorrect information.
