I've killed 75% of my birds in the rain. When in a dry blind, nothing more peaceful then a warm spring day rain.
Good luck to you!

I'm gonna be absent the first day or two. I will go put up my blind Friday morning and prepare for long sits over the weekend. Been so busy with work and home, and now a sore back🙄, I'm way behind in everything. Just now sealing up a new blind, and dragging all my stuff out.

Man this property is tough, last time I come here I had a much better experience at LBL. Had two gobbling this morning in the same general direction. One of them shut up at sunrise so I figured he’s already henned up while the other is still going at it. I crept my way inching closer and closer for about 45 min until I was what sounded like only 200 yards away then BOOM! Another hunter got him. I figured Tuesday not even opening week it wouldn’t be this bad, just can’t get an area to myself. I think that’s about all I can take of this, time to head home and get prepped for tomorrow!

I’ll still kill a jake if I feel the need and the situation is right. Ain’t no shame in my game. They eat just as well, maybe a little better.

Good luck to everyone hitting the woods tomorrow and be safe! Public land for me this year but I will be out trying! I have the rest of the week off work so 5 days in a row to hunt. The place I'm hunting is gonna be tough going but I'll give it my all!

Lord baby Jesus. Please help me stay the course and deal with this man.
Checked the farm out me and Duff are hunting last night. Seen two good longbeards and two Jake's. Landowner says 2 longbeards strutting behind his house EVERY morning as he's sitting on the deck drinking coffee. We seen the jakes roost. What does this man say? Hey we can get on them jakes tomorrow morning. I told him I've never killed a bird right off the roost and he says the only 2 he's killed was OFF the roost. I believe 2 different interpretation of "off the roost". Anyway about my prayer little baby jesus...

I killed my first Tom turkey last season, my question is do you guys pass on anything above a jake? Haven't ever shot a jake. Won't shoot one. Meat isn't why I do it. I try to make it last as long as possible. Usually end up taking several guys out before I kill mine. Nothing wrong with it if it makes you happy. Several guys I've taken out have shot them and are as happy as if it was a 4 year old. All about what makes you happy.

All set in the blind. Ow is ready to roll. Now just need some better luck than youth weekend. Unfortunately did not get down in time to roost any birds so it’s a roll of the dice.

Settled in on my food plot with my grandson. Nice quiet morning.
Just heard one gobble. Pretty far away.
Woodmaster is about3/8 mile away.
