If you follow Illinois politics at all, they currently are pushing hard to ban so called assault weapons and any magazines over ten rounds. Sounds like it's got some traction behind it?

Just in the House so far, right? Yes, it passes on to the Senate now. "The bill would ban the sale of assault-style weapons and high-capacity magazines with more than 12 rounds. Anyone in possession of those magazines would have 90 days to convert, dispose or sell them. Those who already own the assault-style weapons would be grandfathered in, but have 300 days to enter the serial number of those weapons into the FOID system." I don't see how that would stand up in court, that's making a list of gun owners. What if you have a 2nd house out of state and have the "bad" guns and magazines there? I'd love to see a list of the Illinois politicians that owns guns, and none of their protective details should be able to have any of those "banned" items.

The hi cap magazine ban and assault ban passed in the Republic of Illinois. I sort of put Illinois up there with Comifornia when it comes to firearm laws. .
