Looks like lower bag limits have helped grow herd in many areas. (Good job DNR). My home area is still down (Switz.Co, record low harvest), as was majority of SE IN, after 2 years of EHD which has really hurt population's. Suspect bonus tags will remain low for most southern IN counties again in 2024. Will message Joe in couple weeks with my observations and see what his thoughts are.

Meanwhile in Missouri. One reason for IDNR deer herd reduction , it was not done for no reason. Think current population numbers are pretty much new normal, don't see IDNR letting herd grow much from current levels just because of CWD threat.

Your area may low but it still HIGH per CheckIn Count Per Sqare Mile…..according to the colored map!

Switzerland County is one of smaller counties in state, but has some of best deer habitat.
