The Huff Buck was never panel scored at any Big Game awards as you said certain people came to Ohio and looked at the rack and reviewed the numbers…… "The certain people were certified B&C scorers.", were they not? I think so but that’s not how the advertised process is supposed to work according to B&C. Panel scoring is to take place at Big Game awards why would Huff Buck be different?

Regardless of what that buck scores, or what its monetary value may or may not be, that young man killed a once in a lifetime buck. And that's the thing that seems to get lost in these situations. I have a friend that killed a B&C buck here in Switz. CO. several years ago. He jumped all the hoops to get buck enteted in book. (Said never again.)The process and cost was ridiculous. He had to drive to IL where awards banquet was being held, after all said and done, paying for lodging, fuel, food and 3 days missed work, it cost him approx. $3,000. Just to get a deer scored for book!!!! This was 15 years ago, cost today would prolly be double. Many people can't afford the process. He should done his homework and had it scored in Indiana that was his choice to go out of state that’s why he paid extra money to get it scored! Maybe he shopped scorers? $20 is the entry fee and there could be a small picture fee… $3,000 to get buck scored and entered in B&C is complete BS and false information! SMH

Hunter and his father went.

I have not been fortunate enough to kill one that size so don't know actual process. Guy isn't a rocket scientist either, he just said that had to go to banquet to have it panel scored. Maybe at time it was?

Sorta what I figured…..At least we know it’s not $3000+ to get a deer scored and entered with B&C if someone chooses to do that.

I said the hunter said he spent $3000 by time it was all said and done. That included the dad and sons trip to banquet for panel scoring in IL, including food, lodging and time for missed work.

Have been to the "Backman Shed". Which is a big finished pole barn in Dearnorn Co. with all his mounts. I would guess over 400 mounts, inc. 100's of whitetails. Impressive collection.
