I actually saw some deer tonight. Up until now the only time I have been seeing deer is when I spooked them on the way to my stand or right before dark. I haven't been on a morning hunt yet. Is anybody else noticing less deer movement or is it just me. I know the deer are around because I see them around the areas in fields at night and like I stated earlier I have bumped them from where they are bedded down(unintentionally). I try to play the wind the best I can. I just think that for some reason the deer are more nocturnal than usual or perhaps I am just having some bad luck.

I'm seeing normal movement for my neck of the woods this time of year. It's still a little too warm for them to want to move much IMO. A good cold front should get them stirring a bit.

I have two groups that usually come up out of the bottoms every year in the mornings. The first gang comes thru right at first shooting light & the second gang comes thru between 9:00AM-10:00AM.

Do you think deer will be moving Thursday morning? It's supposed to be foggy with a light westerly wind. Does the moon set before daybreak?

I counted 4 dead ones along a southern Illinois highway while headed over to Illinois to hunt this evening.
I only saw one from the stand though.

Had a big old doe and a youngn' come right to me just before dark. For some reason it seems like the deer in my area are more interested in something else besides the fresh cut corn field. These came from their bedding area, crossed the corner of the field and walked directly under me.
