Working nights this week we watched deer traveling all night on the security cameras. They really seem to like the ornamental bushes and pines in the front yard. My friend and coworker found four sheds by backtracking the deer tracks. He found a good matched set off of an eight point that would go in the 130's. I'm hoping to find sheds off of this guy.

I think I know where to look this year for sheds......In the same area I shot my 10-pointer this past season. Should be some in that general area DEEP in the woods.

I saw a small buck on the way to work this past week still sporting his 6 pt basket rack.
I haven't been out yet but hope to get out to our places next Saturday. Time for some fresh air and time in the woods.

I went out saturday morning to a couple of my shed hot spots since I was bored out of my skull, but did not find any. It's still a bit earlier than when I normally start finding them.

Guys up here are finding moose sheds, but the whitetail sheds are a bit fewer and further between. I'd like to get out and try to find some moose sheds (I know there where some moose were during deer season) but with 30" of snow and no snowshoes it's a bit hard. Getting rain today, so hopefully it'll crust up enough I can get out and look a bit this weekend.

Just got back in from a little walk on the farm to check cameras and see if I could find some sheds. Plenty of droppings, one rabbit, but no sheds! It is snowing to beat the band in Versailles right now!

We had an inch or so of snow this week, so I checked cameras and walked the property for sheds. I followed most of their common trails and hideouts without any luck. They are using the property but not bedding there right now. I think most of the bigger bucks should have dropped by now, but it's 50/50 with the smaller bucks. I passed on this guy the first week of November. I had him at 20 yards slipping in to his bedding area, haven't seen him since, so I figured he had been taken in gun season. Just goes to show that you never really never know what gets harvested during the season unless you see em brown and down with your own eyes!!!!!

A friend of mine found a matching set in a fallow field we were rabbit hunting on Sunday. The half racks were lying 2 feet apart! We found a half rack last year in the same spot that nearly matches the find from Sunday. This was in Lawrence county. If the buck had a 16" spread he would have scored ~ 137", for what it's worth.
