Number 2. Jdub, did you pick that one up on the road. Haha. It looks as flat as a pancake. Jk Had my grandson with us, he did real good for an hour and a half then it was time to take him in. 5 min later.....yep JDUB gets one.

Aww...c'mon michael-a...leave my teammate alone...and go grab another cup of coffee! Besides, if Jdub shoots a bushytail, and it rolls down a hill, and a hawk snatches it up, only to end up getting hit by an oncoming semi tractor, which subsequently flattens the lil tree rat...WELL...that counts. JUS SAYIN! Now for my cup of coffee!

Been out twice Team 11 and nothing to show for it. This is the first year in a long time that I've actively hunted squirrels. I think the season opens earlier here in Indiana than it did in Michigan. It's a lot harder to hunt them with leaves on the trees! I've been seeing a TON of red squirrels but have yet to see a fox. The cloudy and rainy weekend made for some difficult hunting. Took a couple of shots both days at some tiny red squirrels. First day, clean misses on 2 shots. Second day I thought I had my first of the year in the bag. It dropped 30 feet out of a tree, got up and ran away!

Mine must have been old the only time that I tried grilling them then. I decided no more of that. Maybe have to try again with some little grays.

I'll get the hang of this yet!
Got this little fella yesterday. Whole gang of grays working over a small grove of hickories. As usual, shot opportunities are scarce even when you're standing there with cuttings dropping all around.
Think I'm going to like the holographic sight on the Marlin, if it holds zero after handling. Time will tell.

Mark me down for one finally. Off tomorrow, so I hope to put a crooked number on the board.

Mark Team 4 (Fuzzy Nut Busters) down for one. I went out yesterday and seen several, but the woods I hunt in turned out to be infested with skeeters. I only got one and had to leave before I looked like one big mosquito bite. Took a pic for the contest mid cleaning because I forgot to take one before and my phone locked up. Don't know what happened but getting it looked at tomorrow so I can post it for the team. Since the mosquitoes were so bad, I bought a Thermacell. Anyone use one of these while squirrel hunting?

Well, I seen a crooked number this morning. I'm not set up 5 minutes and there goes one through the treetops past me. Didn't slow down enough with the foliage to offer up a shot. Then another one did the same thing, but it gave me a quick shot but I paused too long. Season is a marathon and I'd rather pass than wound and lose it. Moved to a crest on a hill and see one fighting with a small branch. Dead as soon as I pulled the trigger. Then it got hot and a bit breezy. Time to work on the honey do list. Add one to the team.

Add one more Squirrel for Team 7.
Went a few hours this morning but only bagged one Gray. Tried to post photo but can't due to photo size?? Not the best Squirrel hunting day as I only saw three and it was foggy and dark in the woods.

Mine works well if I'm sitting still, no breeze. If there's much breeze or you're moving, it doesn't get a chance to fog up the air around you to be effective.
