Greetings. Seems to me what you pay in dollars we have to pay in sterling, wanting thirty pounds sterling over here, I will stick to my lovely smelling lotion and a Midge proof net jacket. The net jacket is great because on can just have a shirt on underneath in hot weather If daughter is allergic to the bites sir then a thermocell and the bug proof net jacket may be the way to go if you do not want to use lotions. It stops the Scottish midge Regards Billy

Ive used the lotion in the past. Not near as effective as the thermacell on skeeters.

Well you guys talked me into it. Was just at Walmart grabbing a couple things for this weekend and had to pick up a thermocell.
Just tried it for the first time on the porch and I'd say it works pretty good. Took a minute or so to warm up I guess but all Mosquitos disappeared as soon as I could smell it.

Just put mine in our pack for my son's hunt in the morning. Those things are great in the early season.

my boy killed his doe this morning before they attacked, but it was nice having it running while dressing the deer out.
Love my thermacell.

My boy got a kick out of watching the mosquitos fly along the open window of the blind and then leave.

Based on this thread I went out today and bought one. The dads club at my sons school put on a movie night outside tonight. We used it there and it was a success, no skeeters around us. ;-)
Thanks for the advice on the thermacell.

Haven't used it hunting, but I do know they work. My sons use one for fishing. I may borrow it butchering if we get a early deer. Was butchering a cull lamb last week on a day it was barely 60. The skeeters drove me nuts.
