OK, if I must.I was in the stand and around 40Min before dark i was hunting with my bow for the first time and I look over and there were two does and a Fawn. They were about 30yds out and I moved the bow to get it up to draw and ding!.......there they go, I hit my bow on the stand and there they went, I got white flagged and they blew, I cannot tell you how mad I am! I know you are frustrated to miss the shot, but think of it this way, you are adding a story for the future. And future generations of deer camp are going to need stories. Since Alex and I are new, we don't have much yet, but I'm sure we will have some stuff too that you just have to laugh about.

Took Stephanie for her final youth hunt this weekend. Tough hunting with the heat and the farmers bouncing from one field to the next harvesting. At about 40 minutes before legal light turned off tonight she tells me she sees deer. A doe and two fawns came in, but neither of us saw momma until she turned to bolt when the stand squeaked. One of the fawns locked up at about 25 yards and Steph dropped the hammer. Her first deer ran about 30 yards and laid down within sight. The sheer pure emotional overload of a first deer, first kill on anything for her, is the only reason anybody needs to take a kid hunting. Simply amazing. Congrats to Stephanie! What a great way to end it.
