What are the odds they throw chase elliot in the car? Hendrick and SHR have a string partnership.... Be good practice for him.

Looks like Chase Elliot's JR Motorsports teammate Regan Smith will be the fill-in driver.

As soon he understands that he needs NASCAR more then they need him, he may then see the "Light"

NASCAR is the pot calling the kettle black.
NASCAR post television commercials of drivers fighting, there isn't a year goes by that they don't show footage from the past of drivers slugging it out and yet they suspend a driver because he did the same thing while on his own time.
If every employer was to suspend employees because of pending court issues there would be a heck of a lot of folks missing from the work place. The most important thing to remember here is no criminal charges have been file against Busch only a protection order and there isn't a court anywhere in this country that would not issue a protection order especially to a women or a minor.
Ask any court officer how many protection orders are enforced, I have seen people go to court and with tears in their eyes tell a judge how they fear for their lives so a protection order is issued then a few weeks later they are sleeping with that very same person they said was such a threat to their life.
IMO NASCAR should have waited till criminal charges were issued, the whole world has know about this incident since it happened last year WHY NOW.
And NO I don't condone domestic violence.
Greg, I agree with you completely that Busch needs NASCAR more than they need him but............

For me, racing is a strange sport. I sum it up in one word...COMPETITION! I remember one hotly contested hare scramble where I intentionally wrecked my nemesis because I felt he had rocked me, banging bars out of the gate, headin for the hole shot. I mean I shot my Honda right up his chain! Here's the crazy thing. I couldn't stand the guy. I probably couldn't stand him today though that was years ago. BUT, we always had respect for each other as a racer! Nothing trips my temper trigger like racing! So as for Kurt Busch! I personally don't pull for him. I like his brother even less. But do I like to watch them race and consider them to be in the NASCAR elite as racers? You betcha! As for this "domestic" issue...terrible. Let the courts sort that one out.

I always thought that around here a man was innocent till proven guilty. All women are victims now, apparently they are born that way. Men are evil people that rape and beat. Long gone are the days of strong decent, respectful women. That being said, Kurt is a drunk idiot and deserves what he gets imo

When I heard Smith would be replacing Bucsh, it made way more sense than my original suggestion. He filled in for Stewart last season, only logical.
Bucsh's history with outbursts do not help his case. However, it may be difficult to prove him guilty of any crime or wrong doing. Didn't the alleged victim wait some period of time prior to reporting the incident?
Those making arguments that Busch needs to be knocked down a peg or two are right. He needs Nascar; they are better off without him. Often they penalize drivers for "actions detrimental to the sport" for all the wrong reasons. But in this case, they are right. Last year he was afforded a huge second, maybe third, chance. It could have only gone two ways: complete redemption or return to chaos. There is no doubt that he is a good driver, his brother too (Kyle is a great driver). But imho, they both have horrible sportsmanship. Kurt's integrity is tarnished. Nascar and Stewart-Haas would be wise to sever the relationship.

I've never been a fan of either Busch, although Kyle does seem to have settled into a better personality and more mature attitude level now that he has aged a bit.
I don't really doubt Kurt's guilt, but I do have serious doubts about the practice of sports governing organizations jumping the gun and imposing their own serious sanctions that could well have lasting and even terminal effects on a career based on an unproven allegation. I understand their reaction to "show support" and "send a serious message", but they are in effect creating an opportunity for even more serious damage to justice by allowing unproven allegations have the desired effect of the alleged victim without having been proven in a court.
Imagine if all a coworker needed to do to get you suspended and possibly terminated from your position at work was to find a former girlfriend who would like to get revenge against you by claiming abuse.
The practice might be seen as necessary to protect your employer, and is probably already acted on in many cases on just this basis now. WAY too much potential for abuse built into the system if allegations are given the importance of truth without being proven first.
Wonder what a former GF of a star QB of the opposing team in the SB could command for a timely allegation?
Will it take a completely obvious case of misuse of the system to make the problem obvious enough to bring about change?
At least with Ray Rice, there was video from the elevator. There has been little evidence or proof in some of the spate of cases since. It's great that the governing bodies are not sweeping aside legitimate allegations, but overreacting can create just as bad a situation by giving them unwarranted weight.

Long gone are the days of strong decent, respectful women. That being said, Kurt is a drunk idiot and deserves what he gets imo I never said he was innocent or guilty. I still stand on my original post. In this country. A man or woman. Is innocent till proven guilty. There hasn't been a court of law that has proven him guilty. There for NASCAR shouldn't assume he is guilty. There for he should also start the 500 tomorrow. Every since Dale Sr's death NASCAR has tried to rule with a iron fist. They Don't Ever Want One Driver Being Larger Than NASCAR. Which Dale and his fan base was. Oh by the way. I'm in no way a Kurt Busch fan. Just think this mess is being handled in the wrong way.

Innocent till there is "substantial likely hood" of being guilty. It's close to his constitutional rights.
