I've been so busy lately that I haven't had time for crazy thoughts, but my wife inspired me tonight.
You know I've said that I wouldn't be a bit surprised if martial law is declared in America before the end of 2016. Well, I certainly hope it doesn't happen, I'm not quite ready to go yet.
I've thought long and hard about what to do when they come to take my weapons. My struggle comes from my faith, but I'm currently leaning towards going down in a blaze of glory.
If the trend does not change, Trump will be the Rep. Nominee for president. It appears no one can beat him as long as Cruz and Rubio are still running. If only one of them, they'd at least have a chance. It doesn't matter what skeletons are pulled out of Trump's closet, his supporters don't care.
His supporters are really "upset" with our Government. The powers in charge cannot control Trump and thus do not want him.
My wife asked me tonight, "What if they kill Trump?" I'd never thought about it before even though I remember this question coming masked in my wife's voice before. I originally thought she meant a crazy who just hates him, but she meant the Government. She made it clear tonight.
What if???
If there is no other way to stop him, they might just decide to kill him. Can you imagine the revolt that would rise up. No matter how it was presented, his supporters would blame the Government. ...martial law in America.
This is my outside the box stretched thought of the day.

If folks were that intent....and it were that easy to do....do you think he'd be the one killed?
Really?

"But the Government doesn't kill people, Michael" "Now who's being naive Kate." ...something like that.

Oh yes, I really like Max too.
Decency will never win another Presidency. The world has changed, and there's a lot worse to come.

To tell you the truth folks, I believe America is in it's final days. Not because someone running for office getting killed; but rather our economy will crumble.

Wow - Jon's wife is one step ahead of the NYT. I agree with DRS, I believe we are heading to an ugly civil war. I've never seen so much hate and feelings of betrayal.

Can't help flashing back to the Jimmy Carter days.
I didn't vote for him, but I believe that he was probably the most sincerely and devoutly religious of any leader in my memory, and from what I've read, maybe in the history of the country. I always said of him, that I suspect I'd like him very much as a neighbor down the street. We just wouldn't talk much politics....or religion.
And until the current resident of the White House leaves, Jimmy is likely to retain his unofficial title as the worst president in history.
If what was needed was a really nice guy, we should probably flock around Dr. Carson.
I think we should be considering the current embarrassing sideshow as an example of what to avoid in preparing the rules for the next election cycle. I never liked the "debate" as a method of choosing our leaders, anyway. May have had some worthy attributes back in the Lincoln-Douglas era, but in today's world, not so much.
However, if we are to keep them, for entertainment value or whatever, they should at least proceed by more rapidly winnowing the field to two remaining candidates, to prevent the situation where we are now, with one candidate with a small but determined following from becoming the leader by attrition while the other more worthy candidates deplete their resources and are dragged down to the level of the most outrageous one.
IMO, we are doomed to end up with the candidate who best proves the H.L.Mencken quote that "no one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people".
If the public has made the Jerry Springer show and pro wrestling such big hits, we might want to consider something other than another popularity contest rigged to grab the maximum ratings as our most important tool in selecting our future chief executives.
We have narrowed the field, but in doing so we have eliminated some of the most promising candidates, and retained the ones making the most promises, which isn't the same thing. Give me Rand Paul, John Kasich, maybe even Carly Fiorina or Mike Huckabee, instead of the three leaders now, and I might say the system is kinda noisy and not very efficient, but it's working.
My earliest recall of anything to do with politics was watching the 1952 conventions on our 9" Philco's little round screen when I was going on eight years old. We lived in South Bend at the time, and our TV shows all came out of Chicago, where both conventions were held that year. Wasn't much else on the two channels we could get. It was entertaining to try to figure out why all those old people were carrying on so, waving signs and apparently having some sort of party where they seemed to mostly be having a great time. Didn't look very promising, but in the end Ike won, and all was well with the world. I wonder if we can do as well.

In a word...no.
Trump, Cruz and Rubio made giant asses of themselves last night. Meanwhile Carson and Kasich looked like two kids on the playground who didn't get picked to play.
It's no better on the Democratic side where the choices are a liar and a self admitted socialist.
Where are the statesmen & women in this country?

Hmmm....Another crazy thought, this time from my old noggin.
What if the party leaders are playing a different game now? Keeping a few choices in that would appear to have little hope, to prevent a Trump first ballot lock, and allow a "White Knight" to come riding to the rescue at the convention?
Anyone else see the Lindsey Graham speech at the Roast? Think Paul Ryan might just be the guy to rescue us all from the dreaded Trump candidacy and Hillary presidency, like he rescued us from more Boehner? Might that have been a "Plan B" contingency all along, or if you're into conspiracy theories, maybe the real "Plan A" for a fractured party to recover just in time? It may sound far-fetched, but it would explain some otherwise pretty un-explainable behaviors.
And it just could be that the Dims are playing the same strategy, keeping their own "Saving Grace" behind the curtain, out of the public cockfight and bloodletting between the Witch and the Commie until the time is right?
Make for some good theater, anyway.
I expect I'll vote for Gary Johnson again anyway, though I probably would vote for Paul Ryan if the party can "convince" him to save us at the last minute.

The problem with that is there is deadlines to be put on the ballot in the general elections. Alot of them already passed and some have to be in the primarys. On the democratic side it's toonly late for VP Joe Biden. Sorry if this put a little wrinkle in your theory.

The very last good year in this country was 1964, and our country has been going down hill ever since. OK.. Why 1964?Well, there are many things that changed for the worse for our Country. One thing this was the very last year for coins containing silver. L.B.J. got us into the Vietnam War, which we lost, and costing us many lives and dollars. Inflation was starting to "heat-up"; then the Democrats got Medicare passed, which affected our medical industry in a negative way. Prices for medical care increased dramatically. I believe that if J.F.K. hadn't been assassinated, our Country would be in better shape. Those who had him killed are the ones running our Government today.

Might also add this to my post: Yesterday, I went into town to buy some new shoes. I found a pair I liked [Skechers brand] so I purchased them. I looked at the box they came in and it said ~ MADE IN VIETNAM!! This is another reason our country is tanking as all the goods purchased here are mostly made in another country thanks to N.A.F.T.A. and G.A.T.T. Growing-up back in the 1950's & 1960's , we always laugh at things made in Japan, as mostly it was JUNK!!. Now look at our country ~ we're the laughing stock of the world.
