Why is it no one mentions savage. I have a bolt action. 22 it's pretty accurate. I had one and it shot fine it had the accutrigger and all. Hate the magazines on the savage personally but would still buy another one if I got a good enough deal. Mine doesn't have accu trigger wish it did. My marlin 17hmr has the equivalent to savages accu trigger and I love it.

I have shot more squirrels with the single shot .410 that my grandfather gave me than all other guns combined. It's a Winchester 39 Red Letter that would be worth good money if not in such bad cosmetic shape. Grandpa kept it in the milk house for coons, possums, etc. The stock is cracked, barrel is pitted, etc. He gave it to me in 1988 when they moved from the farm.
I now squirrel hunt exclusively with air guns, but I'll never forget how much I enjoy hunting with that gun.

Bagged lots of Squirrels and Rabbits with this shotgun. Now I use my CZ 452 .22 Long Rifle.

Since I got my Savage .17HMR about 10 years ago I may have used my H&R .410 Topper a handful of times and haven't even given my .22s a second thought.
I'm a bit of a freak though. Since my knee surgery I don't move much and I've taken squirrels consistently out to 100 yards.
