Budd, what's he using to catch them? Sweedish pimple tipped with minnow head.

Yesterday we had the whole lake to ourselves, as far as I can see anyhow. We were on Lake Winnibigoshish, just up the road from my house. used to go up there in the summer fishing, stayed at I think Williams narrows. Love to go back again but the drive, I did talk wife into going to NW Wisconsin, been doing that for several years Williams Narrows is only 8 miles from my house.

Got a dozen or so Christmas trees On The ice for structure whenever it warms up. Going out to search for more. This is the best time to get it done.

I just drive around town, check the city tree disposal and have friends who pick them up when they see them. gets me about 15 to 20 trees each year. What I don't use on the ponds I use for ground blinds this fall. They come in handy.

Spent the day flirting with the Canadian border on Lake Of The Woods, 4 of us picked up 24 walleye and sauger with a few white fish mixed in for smoking. The ice was rough as a boulder field with broken up ice chunks, ice heaves everywhere. Done good with no flat tires on the trucks!!!

Well we are about an hour from the Mackinac Bridge. It’s been a long day of sketchy roads. Roads are clear and very little snow here in Gaylord. We should be to the house in the UP in about 2 hours. But... vehicle #2 is having some issues. Hoping to be fishing tomorrow.

I hope you get the vehicle issues resolved before the trip back!
I checked the ice on the pond yesterday after an evening of 50°F weather and rain. Not good. 5" of ice with the top 3" all milky white, puddles of water on the ice and a few holes opened up that were draining the water off the top of the ice. I elected to stay on the pier to drill the hole to check the ice.

Nice sized Rainbows! They don't look like stocked fish, is there natural reproduction there?

They must have been stocked when they were small. The anal and caudal fins aren't boogered up on the bottom from the raceways like most larger stocked fish.

He sure is living a rough life. He’s tearing the fish up. Pretty sure the hunting and fishing helped persuade him to choose ely for college. He is taking wildlife law.
