Anyone watch the live stream on the drone bill?
The author of the bill claims that drones will be a more human way to kill and there won’t be any suffering because you can find the animal quicker!

Regarding the study Sen. Baldwin mentioned and some wondering what that may have or might have included. I got this from our biologist when I asked if they knew of any new studies: I don’t know what they are specifically referring to. I do know after the bobcat season proposal failed last time the furbearer biologist started collecting more information on bobcats. There is a bobcat reporting link on our websites. They also still conduct the archer’s index. She created a paddler’s survey for canoe and kayak enthusiasts and a trail cam survey on private lands. There may be more in partnership with universities like they are doing with gray foxes. I am just not aware of those. On a side note, guess they have yet to replace Steve Backes with a new turkey biologist and supposedly in no big hurry to do so. As of now, they've added those duties to the furbearer biologist's plate (those turkeys have some tought fur!!! )

Yeah there hasn’t been any new study’s done since the last attempt to get some type of season…..And I am not totally convinced a full blown study is needed..
There was a comment made today that the DNR will be tasked to make a season but the first season could be zero bag limits meaning NO bobcats to be killed with first season!
Personally I believe many will be surprised on what is and isn’t allowed the first few seasons…..
The Bill requires a season no matter what public input is taken.

I was wondering who in the world would even vote yes for this, but some big businesses would, which are also filling the pockets of politicians. Hope that one gets killed quickly, but who knows.

I donated 500 Bluegills to University of Michigan last Fall to do a PFAS study sponsored in part by Michigan DNR.
Well the signing of 1383 came too late. The owner pulled the plug on the 6.5 acre pond build due to the wetland issues.

So the original bill still goes or no? Yes… the full house vote hasn’t happened yet. I say it passes but then the DNR has to make a season of some type then take public input and so on.
