I think I did. I was heading home for lunch one day and had a rather large cat cross the road in front of me. The coloring was right and it had a stubby tail. It was heading from the old Ivy Tech in Bloomington across the road towards an old quarry area. If it was a house cat it was the biggest and fastest one I ever seen.

It seems every time lately I check my game cameras I get a couple videos of cats here in Pike County. The last had 3 cats traveling together in the video. I assume it was a mother and her young. All three looked to be about the same size. I have seen 3 cats on different times on stand while hunting deer this year. They are pretty amazing critters. I do hope we get a season here soon. I really feel the population has grown enough to support a season with a limit cap for each hunter or trapper.

I've not been lucky enough to see one yet, but my son's had encounters the past 2 Decembers here in NW Greene County. Here's the one from 2010.... He got the one from this year on video too, but it was still pretty dark and it's hard to see. He's also got trailcam pics from last summer. There's been 2 different people from this area busted for poaching one while deer hunting this past season.... A friend of mine to this video a few years ago down around Vincennes. They have it on camera for a good three minutes underneath their tree stand. I know someone here in Putnam County that also has them on a trail camera.

scottrader' it looks like the cat is blind in his left eye. You can see it real well at 1:56.

I never really paid that much attention. I watched a number of times, and never noticed it.

In 2009 while turkey hunting in Parke County. I'd been working a gobbler for about an hour, when it suddenly went quiet for no real reason. I kept calling for about 15 minutes after I'd last heard the turkey. Just as I started to get up I saw what I first thought was a real yellowish coyote going up the ridge opposite to where the turkey had been. I realized it had no bushy tail just as it stopped near some tree tops loggers had left. I got a good look at it through my binoculars and saw it was a large bobcat. I was about 80 yards from it as it stood there looking around for about 15 or 20 seconds before it walked into the brush. I'd seen tracks in that area a few years before I saw the cat. It's the only one I've ever seen anywhere.

Client Killed Small one left for another day. Pumpkin Head in 2009 Pumpkin Head 2010 client killed (47lb) Nice cat I killed last year with my hounds My son's first self trapped cat at age 5. Sons first cat over hounds, also at 5 years old. Nice trapped cat.

We also have a limit of 5. I usually see atleast one a year maybe two while out driving around. But I see a lot while actually hunting, caught 32 with my hounds last season but only killed two for myself, clients killed 5. My son trapped his limit also.
