Anyone have any idea why gas is on the rise? Jumped $0.10 this morning.
Perhaps just for the Labor Day weekend?

It’s been 3.99 here for a good while. Although I did get it for 3.43 last week at Sams in Columbus.

I saw that the MI governor declared a state of emergency because they get a substantial amount of gas from the Whiting plant. I never did any follow up research to see what that was gonna do for them. It's amazing that any little bleep makes prices jump so quick, yet comes down so slow.

Just like "fuel surcharges" that are commonly levied in the construction business. Lumber yards, ready-mix, etc. However, in all of my years in the business, I've NEVER seen one rescinded when fuel prices come down.

It's not about what they paid for what is in their tanks. It's about what they think they are going to have to pay next time to replace it and still make the profit margin they want. They adjust up quickly so as not to cut into that margin, but grin big if their cost dips instead. I reload for a few select friends and I used to charge just what cost I had in components. Now I charge what it will cost me to replace my components in the screwed up pricing structure we are in currently. I still don't charge labor because I legally can't. BTW- +/- $3.50 locally

Let's hope they come down. The same thing happens when hurricanes temporarily shut down Gulf Coast refineries. I have long thought that refineries are a weak link in security for our country. Very vulnerable to attack. Not much excess capacity. It doesn't take much to take one off line. The same is true for power plants.
It is hard to imagine the consequences of a large number of refineries or power plants being out at once across the country.

Supposedly all Circle K's are dropping by .40 cents a gallon on Monday for customer appreciation.

And thanks to Biden trying to get gas prices down for the midterms our emergency reserve oil supply is the lowest in 40 years.

Complain about gas prices all you want. Nobody is complaining about diesel prices. What would ya say if you were paying $5.00+ for a gallon of gas?
What gets me is that in Kentucky (I was there yesterday) diesel prices are up to $1.00 lower than diesel prices in Indiana. Why is that? You can't tell me that there is $1.00 different in state taxes on diesel.
