I was going through my freezer over the weekend and discovered that I have a bit more venison than I thought I had, I'm considering making a nice batch of slow cooked pulled bbq from some of it for the GT. Congratulations, you just became my favorite member. ;D I love the pulled bbq!

I'm going to try to make it to this historic gathering. Not sure what food I'll bring, but I'll find something tasty.
On another note, I would surely like to see some of them there 1" at 100 yards slug guns and muzzleloaders there at the range. parson

Well Guys and Gals,
Its one week before the Hunting Indiana Outing (and John Wayne Picnic) and Ive counted up around 20 or so people who say they are coming. I sure hope more of you can attend as the more the merrier and its a great time to meet your fellow Hoosiers and place a face with their name.
A few questions,
1. How many plan on shooting on the range?
2. How many plan on shooting trap at the range?
3. If some of you plan on playing golf then someone needs to take charge of that and reserve tee times.
4. There will be an antique tractor show going on at the park that might interest some.
5. Not sure how many picnic tables we get with the pavilion so it might not be a bad idea to bring along a folding chair to sit on.
I'm planning on shooting trap and skeet if they have it and will bring along a couple rifles and smokeless muzzleloader for the range. Also I'm bringing my .454 Ruger if anyone wants to try it out.
Hope to see all of you great members there a week from Saturday. h.h.

I will be coming down there with my daughter. She is 2 and will be ready to incite chaos at any moment. My wife may be coming down, but it depends on her work schedule. I'll try to get her to make some nacho cheese dip and bring some chips. There will be electric outlets for a crock pot correct? Also, is there a bow range? I need to get the new bow sighted in.

I'll bring the 260 and my bow (there is an archery range correct?). I'm kicking around what else to bring; maybe the Garand, the 35 Whelen, and/or a custom 308 target rifle. I need to sight in my 541T sometime so maybe I'll bring it. I didn't ask on here because I know the answer: bring everything!

I'm planning on busting some clay at some point, but other than that just wandering around getting to know folks is what my agenda looks like.

There is an archery range about a mile east of the park. I have never actually shot there before, but I don't think they have targets set up out there all the time. I have hunted the area and never saw a target anywhere. They actually have a shoot there on Sunday the 17 if anyone is interested.

Hornharvester, I would love to try the .454. Put me down for some range time though I'm not sure what I'm going to bring yet. I will definitely be up for a little skeet. If I can get some ammo loaded before next weekend I will probably bring my M1 Carbine. This being a John Wayne Picnic and all I'm also leaning toward bringing my PCR (.41 Mag Marlin). If I don't get my reloading finished I may bring an Egyptian Rashid, a Finnish Mosin Nagant, or a Straight pull Steyr carbine in 8x50R. I'm open to suggestions on what anyone would be interested in shooting. Probably also bring either my Ruger Mk II Govt. Comp. .22 lr. or my SBHH .41 Mag.

I've scoped my Ruger .44, but haven't had time to sight it in yet. I'll bring it and play around with it. Anyone that wants to shoot a PCR is welcome to try it. The slug gun stays home.. I've got three .22 handguns (two S & W and 1 Ruger) and a Browning BL .22 (lever gun) plus about a 1,000 cartridges that we can shoot. I don't have a skeet type gun, but I've got a gun I can shoot trap with. Anyone up for getting up teams for skeet and/or trap? Any volunteers to organize the skeet and/or trap competition? Don't forget to bring range safety equipment in the form of safety glasses and hearing protection.. We will have a lot of fun...

Also, for those interested in doing some fishing don't forget to bring your gear to enjoy some of the opportunities nearby.

LOL! Sounds like we're trying to cram a weekends worth of activity into one day. My grandson and I will be up for some trap shooting and I'll bring the .22 rifles and pistol for him to shoot. Might bring the muzzy and bow if I have time to dust them off.
