Not sure who mantains the FB page but it's obviously one persons opinion, not official policy. Some of his/hers wording just doesn't seem all that set in stone as long established policy should be. Such as waiting on a video before they could decide the final score.......not policy for sure.
This buck will be panel scored (as outlined above by Woody) unless it ends up out of the top 5 or top 10 or the owner doesn't want it panel scored.

It'll be verified (the score), which means it has to be measured. And yes, the score will be as listed as on the original entry sheet. Surely this isn't the first time learning the process??? There is no way to verify anything without some measurements by the panel.

Has the story been published anywhere yet officially? I've heard everything from public ground buck, found gut shot buck, trespassed buck....don't wanna believe anything really anymore on it.

If i read through the pages correctly, this would be the #3 NT? Behind two sheds?

Sheds is not correct. the top two were oick ups, skull intact so that inside spread could be measured. Didn't make 3 either. Still has to be panel scored too.

IMO it's pathetic that a legal kill has to be ranked behind, deer that were "found".

IMO it's pathetic that a legal kill has to be ranked behind, deer that were "found". you want the hunter honored, were the system is set to honor the deer. Most likely both of the found deer were killed by hunters just not recovered. Besides that suppose it was a rich guy that doesnt hunt normal places like you mentioned before- ei. Potts or Waddell, etc.

The system isnt in place to honor the deer, or else names wouldn't be attatched, nor would anyone care to kill a "book" buck. You don't know how the bucks were recovered ahead of him, just someone's word. Hell, they coulda been poached for all you know.

Any of them could have been poached. The rules allow pickups. Its about the deer not the hunter. Say the WR holder comes to a sports show, would you want to see him or the deer?

I agree that names wouldn't be attatched if no one cared about the hunter. if the wr holder came to a sports show i'd want to see them both. i'd want to see the deer, and congratulate the hunter!

The deer without the owner telling the history and harvest of the animal would be a major dissappointment. I can see the pics of the animals online, it aint gonna be a darn bit different in person. Although, what i cant get online is the history, and the story of the harvest. Guess you might be at awe about the giant deer, but id much rather hear the stories from the hunter, than to gaze at the rack that i've already seen online. To each his own.

Right.....you have mentioned that you have no respect for certain hunters that don't hunt exactly like you do, such as Potts or Waddell so why would you be interested in their story? Thec deer gets the respect it deserves for growing a rare and great piece of work.

You are partially right about me not thinking Potts and Waddell are gods in the deer hunting world like you do. People who catch trophy fish in a pay lake, doesn't make them great fisherman.... Enough of those peeps.......... Some deer shouldn't get the respect it deserves when man steps in and raises them like cattle.
