I will not speak out on that sin, because if I do, a person could make me into a hypocrite in 2 seconds by pointing out my sins. I will not speak out against any particular sin. What I will do is try to reflect the love of Christ so that people actually want to know me instead of being repulsed by me. What I will try to do is pray for people and things that I don't fully understand. As for Mr. Osteen...I don't know if he is a "false teacher" or not. I am not familiar with all his teachings. On this particular topic, he was asked if he thinks it's possible for a homosexual to receive salvation. He said he thought it might be, but he doesn't know for sure. Neither do I. Neither do you. Are we not all hypocrites in some way? This is why we need the blood of Christ. Do not look at me; look at Christ. Absolutely, I know that any human who accepts the shed blood of Christ to cover their sin will inherit the Kingdom of God. They are sinners like us, but we do not continue to practice our sin or we will feel the chastising hand of the Lord. He chastens those he loves. He is a jealous God; He tells us this. Think about this: I never spanked someone else's kid in a grocery store, but I did mine, because she belonged to me. If we belong to Him, He will spank us, and get us where He can use us. Your spiritual gift may be one of love, and it's a wonderful gift. However, love cannot be confused with acceptance. The bible tells us that we are in a spiritual battle, and that our battle is NOT with flesh and blood. What would a spiritual enemy do to render us powerless? Keep us silent, divide us and accept the ways of the enemy or ignore them. The evil one would want you to feel like a hypocrite to keep you silent. Brother, the art of war is knowing ourselves and knowing the enemy. If we fail to recognize either, we will be defeated.

There are PLENTY of people going around pointing out others' sins. I will leave that to them since, presumably, they must have put their sinful ways behind them. I still struggle with sin and fail every day. So, I guess y'all should point at me. Go ahead, I can take it. I know you love me, you just can't "accept" me. I'll try to soldier on.
If I am going to be in error, I am going to err on the side of acceptance. Let the chips fall where they may.

A lot still are missing the point here. Homosexuality is a sin. They keep living that lifestyle so they will not be saved. So then I assume all of us will be out of luck then. Treat your body as a temple. Every day this rule is broken by all on here. We know it's a sin but every day we still don't follow. In that case we are all doomed. I guess god looks passed that as long as we are not gay.

My mind has changed 180 degrees on this subject. There was a time I would have walked in lock step with the more conservative side of this debate. But I have done a lot of reading, thinking, listening, praying, and discussing and I have opened my mind to the possibility that I don't know, with certainty, what the correct answer is. For that reason, I have backed way off of it and leave it to the Master.

Might as well steal the "horse" ask forgiveness everyday and then ride it everyday!!!

It seems to me from observing arguments like this that the only thing behavior in this life that isn't tolerated is taking any kind of stand. People that say, "homosexual behavior is a sin" are the bad guys now. No matter how gently it's stated, no matter when the Christian says, "Yes, sin is sin, and I'm no better than you, but what you are doing is still wrong, just like what I'm doing is wrong..." People just can't take that any more.
The bandwagon stance is just to accept any behavior so you'll be seen as "tolerant" and "accepting." No standards of any kind. No accountability. If you don't get on the bandwagon you get called "hypocrite" "Bigot" etc, even when you don't name call yourself.
I'll walk, thank you.

No. It was a serious question. Gays, pork eaters, liars, drinkers, smokers? If you are implying nonbelievers than I agree. But can't go with you if you are implying that just because someone is gay that they are Christians enemy.

Ephesians 6:12 [Full Chapter] For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

I still think it's good thing to talk about these issues. I think it was a healthy debate. I'd rather us get a little ruffled than sweep things under the rug.
I have to love all of you, but I really like all of you too. :-)

The point people are missing or completely ignoring is that it is no more or less than a sin than myself and pretty much any Christian who takes a good hard look at themselves commits every day. Yet, somehow, many Christians can't or won't see that. They say, "well they keep on sinning" and I say, well, so do you...you just don't think your sin is as icky". (Again, I mean "you" in a general term). Why don't Christians get all riled up about overweight people, folks who drink too much, smokers (I know lots of churches in KY that have ash trays...pastors who smoke, and so on), people who swear...I see lots of Christian friends who post things on FB with awful language....and so on? That's the point. Why do we have to take on the sin of homosexuality like it's special?

I think we Christians have a responsibility to take it on, and why now? Now, because it's commonly accepted and being pushed on us to accept it.
Again, our consciences will become numb, seared as with an iron. ...if this is ok, it's all ok, and we're all ok, and God loves us all. Just do what makes you happy and it will all be ok. This is NOT Christianity.
We Christians will have to stand at the Judgement Seat of Christ and answer why we allowed them (anyone) to continue in their sin without telling them the truth. We are responsible.

This argument, like so many others, has a much different observation point for those that are neither Christian nor gay.

I am going to start a campaign to point out all the gluttony I see. I see a lot of fat people at church. Some in my bible study. Heck my pastor could skip a few meals for that matter.
Yet, they keep eating way more calories than they burn...day after day. Maybe they were "born that way" but I think it's a lifestyle choice! All I know for sure is that the Bible says its a sin and I wouldn't want to be thought of as accepting it.
Just trying to make my point in a way that will get through. Nothing seems to be working here...
