I have been out all day. Had a few "close" encounters but nothing of note. it seems like I will call they will gobble and in my mind he is saying let's get it on but when I answer back I must just be telling him let's just be friends because none of them have come in closer than 100 yards.

Got out this afternoon. WINDY. No action yet from turkeys. Found a strut zone with a big dust bowl. How good of an area is that to set up in? Also had a young doe walk in and bed down 25 yards from me. Kinda funny because she keeps staring at me trying to figure out what I am.

I found they hit it early off the roost and before they go to nest. Sit there. They might bring him to you.

Had one this morning at 30 yards. Gobbled no less than 100 times. Could not for the life of me see the dang thing. Wandered off.

OK. Never really hunted evenings for the turkeys. Property I'm on consists of mainly 3 ridges. Middle ridge is where I'm at now. The other 2 ridges are generally where they roost. They have big tall oaks. Where you think I should set up?

Good morning all! My neighbor took a buddy out yesterday morning and they doubled. I'm hoping for similar success this morning but, it'll be a short hunt as I have some projects to finish today. Good luck, be safe and God Bless!

Don't do evenings much either but that is my plan as well when I do.

to the top.....Repost of piercing4U's bird.. Great bird! Congratulations! Woody! Taxidermist for sure! I've taken longer spurs and longer beards. I've never taken a 28 lb gobbler. And for sure, I've NEVER put all of those stats together in one bird. I would consider that gobbler a bird of a lifetime!!!

Had 4 gobblers going this morning. One just now got quiet and if he didn't gobble 50 times he didn't gobble once! Sounded like he was on a ridge 300 yards east of me.

I'm at the Metamora lease this morning. With the rain coming, it allows me to hunt the field from the shooting house and to stay dry.
Right now I am on ridge top logging road. Radar shows I have a window of thine before the rain hits. I am hoping to intercept a tom here shortly after they fly down. I have gotten it done at this spot a few times.
It's about 15 minutes to sunrise and I have not heard a gobble yet. But I think I heard a hen yelping from roost. I'm afraid the toms are going to be tight lipped this am.
It's good to be back in the saddle!
