I'm about 45 min away in Greenwood. You can come to my house and I'll drive the rest of the way if you want. Map to: 343 Green Hills Ct Greenwood, 46142 See if this will be easier. Span, what time do you want to meet? Is say around 9. They get kinda mouthy when there is frost on the ground. Hopefully it's melted by then. Nothing worse than a mouthy wife ...I mean rabbit! 9am will be wonderful. Thanks span!

So is it just 3 folks going? I thought about throwing in but didn't want to take a spot from someone else.
I don't really even care to shoot, I just think it would be fun to watch the dogs work.

They won't be the same

Hey, George Clooney loaned me his 20ga O/U for the rabbit hunt. This will be fun.
I was wondering if anyone knew if Atterbury was all steel shot?

Is there a place where we can get some chow before or after the hunt ? Because I have a little road trip to make . I need to get some music CDS to bring and a ton of Coffee to drink on the way . But I'm pumped for this hunt . I was going to say Hickory Hills BBQ on 31, but I don't think they are open on Sunday :-( Where is the sign-in station? I haven't been to Atterbury in 10+ years, and that was to a wedding in the Johnson County Park area.

Hickory hills would have been my suggestion as well, but they are closed on Sundays and Mondays an will be closing for the season soon I'm sure. The check in is at the dnr building which is nearly straight across from the main military entrance on hospital road. The dnr building is on the north side of the road just west of the stop light at the main gate. I talked to someone who works there and he said the rabbits get hunted pretty hard and there isn't any area better than another. Said there are guys that run their dogs everyday in the training areas and then move all over once season opens. I haven't seen a rabbit from the road there in quite some time.

Span, you going past Bedford? I'll pay your gas and buy you some breakfast if you want to carpool. If not, I can get up there just fine on my own too.

I figured that about the rabbits. Just have a drive when we get there for a look see. I'm thinking down by the river might not get hunted too bad.

Key is to hunt the areas others pass over. Sometimes the areas that look the worse will be the best. Might have to adjust a time or two but we'll at least get some running in...hopefully
