My next big purchase lord willing, will be property. In the time being I'd like to get a good semi auto shotgun for upland and waterfowl hunting. I'm kicking the idea around of getting the kids a crossbow so they can get out a little earlier in the season. I'd also like to get an all dual purpose boat for fishing and waterfowl hunting.

Toys boys, this is what I'm talking about. As much as you work firstwd I know you can get a few toys too. I have medical bills, college bills, need a frig, but I'm talking about the essentials in life. I'm hoping to squeeze out a new crossbow before next season, and really need a better 20ga. My squirrel tally left much to be desired. I'm confident that a new 20ga pump would help. At least this is what I tell myself. If I were to purchase another rifle I'd chose a .50 Cal. M/L. one that breaks open like a single shot shotgun. I have a T/C .50 Black Diamond, which is very accurate, but a pain to clean, in someways. I like the one Lyman has which is a break-open and has a walnut stock, nice looking M/L. Anyone here own one?? Besides the above, I really don't need anything else as I have enough "things" already. A Very Nice Log Home, Land, etc. BUT most important NO DEBTS!!

I am due for a new shotgun. My bakail mp153 has been through the ringer. It eats light game loads up to 3.5 inch goose loads but it is slowly falling to pieces. Gave my eye on a beretta a390 silver mallard....but could easily sway to an decent OU gun.
Big decisions :-)

I think you would like an 870 express featherlite. Yes, they are made for youth and women, but they are a dream to carry and handle very well. Oh the pain! I'm bent over with it. This hurts. I do take testosterone so I don't have to shoot a kids gun. LOL For most of the hunting I do I prefer the youth sized guns. My 20ga. turkey gun and my two rabbit guns, one in 20 and one in .410, are both youth. I like the shorter, fast handling guns. Wouldn't recommend one for bird shooting but for quick handling in the brush they are hard to beat. Now for my next guns, I'm still on the search for a 28 or .410 for rabbits. I traded a guy on a whim a 12ga Mossberg that I won at a nwtf banquet that had been sitting in the safe unshot for 7 years for a .410 Mossberg. I've carried it once and ready to get rid of it. They are the most mis sized gun I've ever carried. Seems like it's a 12ga stock on a .410. And heavy. Yes I hate it already. Maybe I'll mess with it, change the stock and forearm to synthetic. Man they are ugly. Anyway to answer your question. I'm going with the 1100 sportsman in 28ga and it'll be a SxS .410. Probably do a nationwide hunt for a Yildiz in the .410. Only ever found one and fell in love with it. After those two, can't imagine anything else I'd want. Almost the point of too many now. Although there isn't a 16ga in the safe yet. First gun I ever owned was a 16ga. Ithaca featherlight. Reckon there is room for one of those too. After that, that's about it. Well I'd really like I really nice wood stocked .22. And a .22 pistol to mess around with behind the dogs. A nice red dot sight on it might just be the ticket for bunnies sneaking in front of the dogs. After that I'm done. Just no more room. Both the safes will be at capacity. Although I did see rural king has safes on sale for Christmas.....

The 870 is a fine pump gun...love the wingmaster series but the express is just as good if not nearly as pretty. Not impressed with the 1187. I own a purpose built slug gun and its finicky about what slugs it'll cycle. When it came time to buy a purpose built waterfowl gun I went with a winchester sx3. That is a great gun. If I were to ever need a semi auto slug gun again the 1187 would stay in the safe and I'd buy another sx3. I hate to say that because I want to love all Remington's .... I really do. The 1187 ain't what they used to be.

I'd do $800. The ones I saw had scopes on them. Synthetic/stainless. $1499-1999. I paid $450. I have 3. One ML-I that wears a laminate stock with a Rifle Basix trigger, .50 cal One ML-I that is still unfired in the box. I sold it 2 years ago to a guy that just had to have it, a year later I bought it back when he got into a money pinch. Somehow he lost the breechplug. It is at Savage getting a replacement. I guess he took everything out of the box and had it scattered around the house. One Stainless ML-II that I purchased from a guy on Dougs, and RB in AR/Rick Bibby (who passed away a few years ago) did a 3rd pillar bedding job on it and filled the mag well with weight and epoxy. It is in the factory camo Tupperware stock. I converted it with a Pac-Nor .45 cal. barrel.

lol ... funny how Savage guys use the word Tupperware. Who started that? I had always heard and used it referring to Glock. Then I became a reserve officer and had to buy one. I now own a 22 with right handed holster and a 27 with left handed holster, both on 40 caliber. Oh, and still use the Tupperware talk but feel much better about it.

Might replace my TC Encore muzzle loader with a CVA Optima. Bought one for the son in law and like it much better than the TC. Really like that you can remove the breech plug without tools.
Have also been keeping an eye out for a nice scoped, bolt action .223 to give my brother. He sees coyotes out back all the time and has nothing that will reach out and whack them.
Really don't need too many more toys. Need more free time to use what I already have.

Slowly gathering the parts for a New England Fowler. I want it to be similar to what would have been carried in response to the alarm at Lexington and Concord. Something similar to this jamesdjulia.com/item/lot-1520-new-england-flintlock-fowler-32978/Or a Marlin 39... Or a compact double action 9MM... Or a Marlin 336 in 35 Rem...

Next on my list is 40' of angle iron and some lumber. I should take care of the iron tomorrow. Got a project in the works. Next summer I would like to get a 22 semi auto handgun for raccoon disposal and a 44 mag. rifle for the wife and kids to hunt with. Any body have a suggestion for a low cost 22? I would like it to have a longer barrel. You can usually find a Ruger 22/45 for less than $300. I've had a Mk III for quite a while. It's heavier than the 22/45, but it's pretty accurate. I really like the Buckmarks, but I believe that they're a little more costly.

A guy on The Greensburg Mancave Facebook page has a Marlin 39a Original Golden for sale right now. Went up yesterday, I think.

lol ... funny how Savage guys use the word Tupperware. Who started that? I don't know, but the plastic stocks that they used on the muzzleloaders was flexible. If you put your hand around the forend and barrel and squeezed, the stock would flex and touch the barrel. It would spring back as soon as you let go, but still............

In other words they are junk. I have one. Its terrible. Lightweight and seems to transmit every ounce of energy from the shot to a mans shoulder.
