Hey medic22...let me know how you like that 642. I just got one as well but don't foresee any range time with it in the near future. Walked in to a gun shop to buy a couple AR mags and a guy was trying to trade it in and the shop didn't want it...so $260 later I took it home. Looks like new. I planned on selling it to a buddy of mine who wants a snubbie 38...but then the wife saw it. It's still here. Im a fan, I'm not a revolver guy, so DA was a learning curve. After 20 rounds and watching the cylinder, i learned to anticipate the trigger break, started putting rounds in a ragged hole at 10yards after that. Itll replace my LCP as a concealment gun, and possibly my glocks as EDC's. Its super light and easy to shoot. What you want to do on a round gun is learn to stage the trigger before the hammer will fall. There is a kind of sweet spot ,all most where the hammer kind of stalls right before falling. That's where you do your final aim before finishing the squeeze of the trigger. The hammer and trigger will be all most be in the single action position. But since yours doesn't have a visible hammer ,it will just about be all feel. When you figure it out it , your groups will get smaller. I like to shoot a round gun because it gives me better trigger control when I shoot my bottom feeders.
Nice gun BTW!

Got my next toy today. S&W 642 no lock. Also picked up a winchester 1300 for an HD/truck gun. I think im done for a while. I have the older S&W 640 model. Had it for quite a few years. I like it as a carry gun, but was never great with it at the range.

I am pretty happy with it and am starting to make it mine with just has a few things that need worked out and we will be good for awhile going to probably take the rust spots back to good metal and spray some rust stop to try and get it under control until I can replace the rockers I am planning on keeping it for awhile

My next project is a Remington 700 AAC-SD .308 rifle that I will put in a Magpul chassis. And my last project isn't even home yet. Lol! It's a Handi-Rifle that I sent the barrel off to Oregon to be reamed to .357 Max and the stock set to Genesis 27:3 for hydrodipping in Predator fall gray. My bases are covered for next firearms season regardless of the outcome of HB 1231. Here they are today waiting on optics:
